Portrait Of Care exhibition to showcase reflections from frontline social services
The Institute for Research and Innovation in Social Services (Iriss) will host A Portrait of Care, a four-day interactive public exhibition that will showcase stories and reflections of the frontline social services workforce.
Coinciding with World Social Work Day, the exhibition aims to celebrate the great work of the sector, understand practitioners’ views, as well as provide an opportunity to share key insights from the public. We hope it might also encourage people to explore a career in care, as well as support retention of frontline staff.
The exhibition is open to anyone working in, or interested in, social services, including the general public.
The four-day event will be held at Edward House, 199 Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow. It is open to everyone over the four days, but there will be specific speakers and activities on each day.
- Thursday 15 March: Industry Day (10-4pm)
- Friday 16 March: Education Day (10-4pm)
- Saturday 17 March: Public Day (10-4pm)
- Sunday 18 March: Public Day (10-2pm)

your help IS NEEDED!
Good practice stories will be showcased at the exhibition. It’s time that more good news stories are seen and heard and by collecting these stories, Iriss hope to build a valuable resource, which will influence, and possibly change, public perceptions and understanding of what it means to work in social services. It is hoped it might also encourage people to explore a career in care, as well as support retention of frontline practitioners.
If you have a good news story about someone who works in social services, such as a colleague, family member or carer, you can share this here: https://www.iriss.org.uk/news/news/2018/01/30/portrait-care-public-exhibition
Closing date for submissions is 5pm on Wednesday, 28 February 2018.
