Walker Healthcare announce 90 new jobs with care home opening in Edinburgh

A new care home based in Cramond, North-West Edinburgh will bring 90 jobs to the city following its opening this winter.

Due to open in January 2018, Cramond Residence will be recruiting care teams comprising nurses, dementia team leaders and carers at various grades, activity coordinators, catering, housekeeping, and other support staff.

Managed by Walker Healthcare, Cramond Residence promises to offer the finest in person-centred nursing and residential care for older people, in luxurious and comfortable surroundings.

Cramond Residence will include 74 en-suite bedrooms and a wide range of lounge, dining and activities rooms and beautifully landscaped gardens. The residence comprises nine separate houses with a focus on small community living.

The team will be led by general manager, Eileen Gray who is well established in the care industry with over 20 years’ experience. Eileen has a particular interest in providing quality progressive dementia care and previously managed a unit which went on to win Dementia Service of the Year.
