NISCC to host lunchtime seminar on tackling domestic abuse

The Northern Ireland Social Care Counci (NISCC) is hosting a lunchtime seminar entitled “Tackling Domestic Abuse – Working inside and out of Criminal Justice/Early Intervention” presented by Kerry Malone of the Probation Board for Northern Ireland (PBNI).

The event is part of a series of free Lunchtime Seminars hosted by NISCC scheduled for 2015/16. These events are designed to highlight new initiatives, new research and outcomes from reviews that are relevant to social work and social care.

Ms Malone is an Area Manager for PBNI and and has responsibility for the delivery and management of high risk programmes focused on addressing both sexual and violent offending. She has a practice background in child protection work and has also worked as a senior practitioner delivering treatment programmes to men convicted of domestic abuse and sexual offending. Ms Malone has more recently been involved in the development of “Promoting Positive Relationships”, a bespoke treatment programme for alleged perpetrators of domestic abuse.

The seminar takes place on Tuesday 30 June 2015 from 12 to 2pm at NISCC offices. There is no charge to attend but you must reserve your place by contacting Siobhan Loughran by email – [email protected]  – by Friday 19 June 2015.
