New members for the NI Victims and Survivors Service Board

Northern Ireland First Minister Peter D Robinson, MLA and deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness, MLA have announced the appointment of Mr Oliver Wilkinson (pictured) as Chairperson to the Board of the Victims and Survivors Service.

The Ministers also announced the appointment of Beverley Clarke, Patricia Haren, Seamus Magee and Stephen McIlveen as Board members.

Welcoming the appointments the Ministers said: “We are pleased to announce the appointment of the Chair and additional members to the Board of the Victims and Survivors Service.

“Victims and Survivors are some of the most vulnerable people in our society and it is imperative to provide services which are sensitive yet responsive to their needs.

“The Victims and Survivors Service is committed to providing the best possible support services, both directly to individuals and through victims’ groups.

“We remain committed to ensuring the needs of vulnerable victims and survivors are met in an appropriate and timely manner. We have and will continue to work closely with a range of people, groups and organisations to make maximum impact with the available resources.

“The Victims and Survivor Service Board has a crucial role in ensuring it is capable of providing support in a co-ordinated, outcome focused and efficient manner.”

The new Chair and Board members are appointed on 1 April 2015 for a period of four years.
