Health Care Services Get £180m

Health and social care services in Belfast are to get £180m in funding in the next three years, Health Minister Michael McGimpsey has announced.

The funding is part of a £580m investment over the next 10 years. A mental health facility for adolescents and children at Forster Green Hospital in south Belfast is one of the new services to be built.

“I will invest funds where improved health and social care services are most needed,” said the minister.

Mr McGimpsey said key projects included a new health and care centre for the Castlereagh area, a new mental health community facility in north Belfast and the replacement of facilities at Muckamore Abbey Hospital.
