SF Seeks Suspension Of Childcare Subvention Scheme

The Government is being urged to suspend the introduction of its proposed new community childcare subvention scheme.

The initiative is being introduced to try to make childcare more affordable for low-income parents.

However, Sinn Féin claims it will lead to higher childcare fees for non-social welfare recipients because community childcare providers will be losing out on staffing grants as part of the reforms.
