Dedicated Unit For Pulmonary Hypertension Opens In Dublin

Ireland’s first dedicated unit for pulmonary hypertension has opened at the Mater Hospital in Dublin. Around 200 people are currently being treated for the condition, which affects the heart and lungs.

New treatments which have come available over the past number of years have increased the life expectancy for people suffering from the disease. The new unit at the Mater will include two nurse specialists to take care of patients and a pharmacist to oversee the complex drugs regime.
