Children In Need In £1.2m Grants

BBC Children in Need has announced grants totalling more than £1.2m for projects in Northern Ireland. One hundred and sixty-four schemes will benefit, including one in Lurgan to help alienated young people.

Children in Need is handing out more than £15m across the UK in its spring allocation. Its income for this year is predicted to be more than £31m. In 2006, £380,000 was raised in Northern Ireland and more than £18m across the UK.
