Northern Ireland regulator launches Social Work Ambassadors scheme
The Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC) was delighted to have employers, social workers, service users and ambassadors join with them in their recent launch of the Social Work Ambassadors Scheme.
Ambassadors are people working in social work roles who volunteer to share their enthusiasm for their career and help to inspire a new generation to join the workforce.
They aim to improve public awareness of social care and social work as rewarding career options and the value of these professions within multi-disciplinary teams, our communities and wider society. Specifically they aim to:
- Provide information to potential social work applicants and careers advisors about the social work role
- Strengthen and raise the profile and identity of social workers
- Support and foster pride in the wocial work profession
NISCC Social Work Ambassadors engage with a range of audiences including: schools, colleges, universities as well as supporting employers to recruit.
