Skills for Care announce finalists for 2017 Care Accolades

Skills for Care have announced the finalists for their forthcoming Care Accolades which reward adult social care organisations who deliver high quality care.

The Accolades recognise excellence and innovation offered by adult social care providers in 10 different categories reflecting the diversity of a growing sector worth £43 billion to the national economy. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in Liverpool on Thursday 9 March 2017.

Here are the finalists for each category:

  • Best employer of under 50 staff

    This award recognises employers that invest in developing the skills and knowledge of their workforce to offer high quality, person centred social care. The finalists are:

  • Best employer of between 51 and 249 staff

  • Best employer of over 250 staff

    ? St Monica Trust

  • Best employer support for registered managers

    This award recognises organisations who can demonstrate their commitment to providing excellent support to their registered managers. The finalists are:

    ? The Regard Partnership.

  • Best employer support for Apprenticeships

    This award recognises organisations who invest in Apprenticeships in social care and the positive impact this has on their business. The finalists are:

  • Best recruitment initiative

    This award recognises employers who have established an effective recruitment initiative that encourages new and returning people into the workforce. The finalists are:

    ? Thurrock Council and Thurrock Coalition Partnership.

  • Most effective approach to leadership and management

    This award recognises employers who have a commitment to effective leadership and management at every level of their organisation. The finalists are:

    ? WCS Care

  • Most effective approach to integration and new models of care

    This award recognises effective approaches to integration to bring together workers from different settings to coordinate and/or deliver services focused on the individual, not the organisation or profession. The finalists are:

    ? Leeds City Council and partners
    ? Lambeth and Southwark Mencap
    ? Southdown Housing Association
    ? Sutton Homes of Care Vanguard Programme – Sutton CCG

  • Best endorsed provider of learning and development

    This award recognises learning providers who are part of Skills for Care’s Endorsements Framework for their commitment to providing high quality learning opportunities to meet employer and learner needs. The finalists are:

    ? Royal Mencap Society
    ? Twynham Training Limited.
