Mental health worker charged with multiple counts of sexual assault and rape
A healthcare assistant has appeared in court charged with a string of sex offences at a mental health unit.
Robert Roberts, 59, is charged with 14 counts of sexual assault and two of rape alleged to have been committed in 2014, Nottinghamshire Police said.
The force said the charges relate to incidents said to have taken place at Millbrook Mental Health Unit in Mansfield.
Roberts (pictured), of Sutton-in-Ashfield, appeared at Nottingham Crown Court on Monday morning for a 10-minute hearing during which no pleas were entered.
He was released on bail and will next appear for a plea hearing on September 9, with a week-long trial set to start on April 24 2017.
