Nottingham care home director admits gross negligence manslaughter over death
A care home director has admitted gross negligence manslaughter over the death of an 86-year-old woman.
Ivy Atkin died on November 22 2012, shortly after being moved from Autumn Grange care home in Sherwood Rise, Nottingham.
Yousaf Khan, 47, of Lucknow Drive, Nottingham, pleaded guilty to gross negligence manslaughter at Nottingham Crown Court, Nottinghamshire Police said.
Company Sherwood Rise Limited admitted a charge of corporate manslaughter, the first care home company to be charged under the Corporate Manslaughter Act.
Three other people still face separate charges relating to Mrs Atkin’s death, officers said.
The case will next be heard at Nottingham Crown Court on February 5 next year.
