Seven men charged with child sexual exploitation, rape and trafficking
Seven men have been charged by police as part of an investigation into child sexual exploitation in Bristol.
The men, aged between 21 and 28, face a string of allegations including rape, trafficking and supplying drugs.
Police said the alleged incidents took place between 2009 and 2013, involving seven girls who were aged between 12 and 15-year-olds at the time.
Two of the girls are being supported by Barnardo’s Against Sexual Exploitation.
The charges follow a series of warrants, which were executed at four locations in Bristol and an address in Newport, South Wales in May.
Two of the accused are due to appear at Bristol Magistrates’ Court later.
They are: Mohammed Dahir Osman, also known as Iman, 28, of Newport, who is charged with five counts of rape, and Nuridin Mohamoud, also known as Ahmed, 21, of Bristol, who is charged with one count of rape and one count of false imprisonment.
A further five men were charged at an earlier date and are due before Bristol Crown Court on November 10.
They are: Abdirahman Galal, also known as Ramsey, 25, of Ashley Road, Bristol, charged with three counts of rape of a child under 13; Mohammed Ismail Dahir, also known as Kamal, 23, of of Easton Road, Bristol charged with eight counts of rape; Sakariya Hassan Sheikh, also known as Zak, 22, of Barton Hill, Bristol, charged with 24 counts including rape, sexual assault, trafficking and supply of class B drugs; Abdirashid Abdulahi, also known as Older Abs, 22, of River Street, Bristol, charged with four counts of rape; and Nasir Ibrahim Mahamoud, also known as Ace, 22, of Barton Hill, Bristol, charged with four counts of rape and one count of receiving stolen goods.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said: “If you have any information relevant to this investigation, please call us via 101 and ask to speak to Bristol Investigations.”
