Carers to be sentenced for neglect at Birmingham residential home
Two care workers who admitted neglect after a pensioner fell at a residential nursing home are due to be sentenced.
Pensioner Norah Boyle suffered a head injury as Benter Ouma and Sabrina Duncan put her to bed on September 5 2013.
The 85-year-old died in hospital 23 days later.
However, during the incident 31-year-old Ouma of Summerfield Crescent, Edgbaston, and Duncan, aged 40, of Shartlands Close, Cotteridge, initially delayed dialling 999.
The two then lied about how Mrs Boyle came by her injury at The Green Nursing Home in Kings Norton, Birmingham.
The co-workers admitted acting in a grossly negligent way at a previous hearing on June 29, and will be sentenced at the city’s crown court.
