Prince’s Trust opens new centre in East London

The Prince’s Trust have opened an innovative new centre in Tower Hamlets in partnership with corporate supporter, Morgan Stanley.

The Prince’s Trust Morgan Stanley Centre – located on St Paul’s Way, Poplar – will offer support to hundreds of young people every year, giving them the skills and confidence to get into work, training, education or self-employment.

They will work closely with other local organisations, including schools, housing associations and health centres, as part of a collaborative approach to tackling youth unemployment in the area.

Currently almost one in five young people in Tower Hamlets are struggling to find work, and many young people face additional barriers such as poverty, caring responsibilities at home and a lack of educational qualifications.

The new centre will provide tailored support for these 500 young people every year, helping to connect them with training opportunities and jobs at nearby employment hubs such as Canary Wharf and Stratford.

Dermot Finch (pictured), Regional Director for The Prince’s Trust in the South of England, said: “Our new centre represents a major investment by The Trust to expand our support for young people in East London, made possible by support from Morgan Stanley.

“We want to become a real hub in the community here in Tower Hamlets, helping to secure a bright future for young people growing up in the area.”
