Former Lambeth care worker charged with child abuse

A former care worker from north London has been charged with sexually abusing boys more than 30 years ago.

Leslie Paul, 63, was charged under Operation Trinity – Scotland Yard’s investigation into alleged abuse at children’s homes in Lambeth, south London.

Paul, of Islington, is accused of 11 counts of indecent assault, two counts of buggery and one count of gross indecency.

These offences relate to three victims – all boys aged under 16 – and are alleged to have taken place in Lambeth between 1979 and 1983.

Paul also faces one count of possession of an indecent image of a child.

He is due to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on February 3.

A male former residential care home worker, aged 49, and a female former foster carer, aged 78, have previously been charged under Operation Trinity.
