Leicestershire social workers move will save £800K

Leicestershire social workers are to be relocated from this weekend in a move that is set to save £800,000 a year.

Leicestershire County Council care staff based in Brooklands Road, Market Harborough, are to move across town to Harborough District Council’s revamped headquarters in Adam and Eve Street.

The council said there would be no interruption to social care services and all planned appointments and visits would take place at the new office from Monday.

Deputy council leader Byron Rhodes said: “Sharing offices is a win-win, helping to save money and giving the public access to key services under one roof.”
