Fremantle Trust appoints four new board members
Buckinghamshire-based care provider and charity, The Fremantle Trust has appointed four new members to its Board of Trustees.
The new members come from a range of industry backgrounds, each bringing a unique set of skills and experience with them to help the Trust maintain its key priorities of service excellence, community partnership and financial strength.
The new Board of Trustees members are: Ian Shepherd, Margaret Morgan-Owen, Diane Kerwood and Nic Heald.
Ian Shepherd has a background in the IT industry and has successfully grown a number of technology companies. In the past six years, he has been both a trustee and chairperson of the High Wycombe Citizens Advice Bureau and Bucks CAB consortium. The values of The Fremantle Trust are closely aligned to his own.
Margaret Morgan-Owen was a district councillor for 16 years, chairperson of her local parish council for 20 years and has been an active supporter and volunteer at her local Alzheimer’s Society as well as serving on the Bucks County Council Partnership Board.
Her knowledge of the care sector has been gained from personal experience as a carer, during which time she developed an excellent understanding of the needs of service users and their carers, as well as an appreciation of the seemingly insurmountable obstacles they can often face. She is particularly interested in trying to make this journey for families easier and knows first-hand what a difference kindness and care can make.
Diane Kerwood is a qualified Registered Nurse, with an interest in surgery and was clinical nurse specialist in stoma care, working in both hospitals and the community. She is keen to be part of Fremantle’s group of Trustees, which she believes has a real sense of pride in contributing to the valuable work of the Trust.
Nic Heald is a retired solicitor and is now keen to use his legal and commercial expertise to help further develop Fremantle’s services. Nic is also keen to ensure the Board continues to strive to further improve the financial health of the Trust.
Carole Sawyer, chief executive of The Fremantle Trust said: “We are delighted to announce the appointment of four new members to the Board of Trustees. Their skills and experience will play a pivotal part in delivering the core values and aims of the Trust to ensure we continue offering high quality care and support.”
