78 apartment dementia care home on course for completion

A MAJOR development to create a new 78 apartment care home with 16 suites for dementia sufferers is on target for completion, the firm behind it says.

Cliveden Manor Care and Nursing Home, situated on the left hand side of Little Marlow Road, as drivers enter Marlow, is set to be finished by Spring next year.

Signature, the company building the new home, said it will have 16 suites dedicated to dementia care.

It will also feature a specialist dementia area that has been designed according to leading research by the University of Stirling. The firm said it was designed to offer specialist support for individuals requiring dementia care.

It will include a restaurant and a bistro that offers a welcoming, casual dining experience, ideal for sharing with families. There will be a hair salon and spa, lounges and a cinema room.

Amanda Fisher, the marketing manager, said: “The Marlow care home is currently under construction and it is anticipated that it will open its doors to residents in spring 2014, further expanding the Signature family.”

The existing properties were demolished during November and since, contractors have been working on the foundations and the basement car park.

The apartments will have a variety of sizeable studios and one and two bedroom suites.

Wayne Pryce, director of development and construction for Signature, said: “Our residents are at the heart of everything we do and we focus on delivering the best home for them, from site acquisition through to building completion.

“We strive to offer a place where people can genuinely feel at home in specially designed suites, where residents can enjoy quality meals, a full range of activities and receive the best possible care.”

An information centre will be open this Autumn and will showcase the apartments, plans and interior designs.
