Wirral Council appoints new director of children’s services

JULIA Hassall is Wirral council’s new director of children’s services. The previous acting director of children’s services was appointed to the role this week.

Ms. Hassall, who has worked at Wirral council for 10 years, has held a variety of roles in children’s social care, youth and play and youth offending services.

Julia Hassall said: “I am delighted to be taking up the role of Director of Children’s Services at Wirral Council.

“During my time in Wirral I have always worked to keep children and young people as safe as possible, and support children, young people and their families to access good quality services and to improve the opportunities available to them.”

Chief Executive of Wirral Council, Graham Burgess said: “I am very pleased to be able to confirm the appointment of Julia Hassall to this important position.

“Julia is a hugely experienced manager with a dedication to protecting, supporting and providing good quality services to children and young people.

“Wirral’s services for Children and Young People have been consistently rated as outstanding, and with this appointment I am confident we will see continued improvement in our provision.”
