Police still on the hunt for bogus social worker accused of sexual assault

POLICE have revealed they are no closer to catching a bogus social worker accused of sexually assaulting a two-year-old boy.

Despite an appeal, including the release of an electronic image of the wanted woman, police have not had any reported sightings from members of the public.

Officers released the details two weeks ago after a mother- of-three claimed a woman conned her way into her home and sexually assaulted her son.

The 25-year-old mother, who is not being identified by the Mail, believed the woman was from social services when she arrived at her east Hull home with an ID badge.

The mother told her story to the Mail to help the appeal, however, it has not given police any fresh leads.

A spokeswoman for Humberside Police said: “We have not had any reported sightings following the appeal.

“We have had no other reports of any other similar incidents so we do not believe this has happened again.”

The woman gained access into the house after telling the mother she was following up complaints about child neglect.

The mother said the woman asked her to take the children’s clothes off to assess whether they had any bruises.

Police have said it was unclear what the woman’s intentions were but the mother said they told her they were investigating a sexual assault.

According to the mother , the woman seemed confident but avoided making eye contact with her when she was talking.

The mother said she had no reason to believe the woman was not from social services and only discovered she was bogus when she later rang Hull City Council to complain about her 15-minute visit.

The mother said she had expected the woman to be caught by police after the appeal.

She said: “I thought she would have been caught by now but like the police say, she might not have even been from this area.

“The police are doing all they can.

“They have been really good with me. They have been really helpful and supportive.

“They get in contact with me to keep me informed of how their investigation is going.

“I do trust them to tell me but at the moment there is nothing to tell me.”

The incident happened on Friday, February 17, at about 11am.

The woman is described as white, with a pale complexion, about 5ft 7ins, with dark blonde shoulder- length hair.

She was wearing blue jeans, a leather jacket and a V-neck top.

She is thought to be in her late 20s.

She spoke with a “posh” accent which is not believed to be local.

Anyone who can help with the investigation should call police on 101, quoting log number 265 of February 17.
