New assistant director appointed by Cumbria council
A new assistant director for social care in Adult and Local Services has been appointed by Cumbria County Council.
Amanda Evans will replace Graham Hodkinson, who has moved to Wirral Borough Council.
She was previously county manager for social care and has worked for the county council since 1994.
She trained as an occupational therapist and was also previously county manager for learning disabilities.
She said she was “delighted” to land the role.
“We’ll continue to move forward to deliver high quality services to vulnerable people and build on Graham’s work and the achievements of the directorate’s management team,” she added.
James Airey, cabinet member for adult and community services, said she brought a “wealth of experience in adult care”. “I know she’s looking forward to continuing to work with staff and managers to tackle the challenges we may face in the coming months and years,” he added.
