Ex-Care home manager faces trial for stealing from residents

A FORMER care home manager who is accused of stealing from residents will face a trial at Lincoln Crown Court.

June Ann Walters, 53, of Uppingham, appeared at Spalding Magistrates Court on Thursday last week relating to thefts from Priory Court Care Home in Priory Road, Stamford, while she was manager.

She was committed to Lincoln Crown Court for a plea and case management hearing on Friday, August 5. At that hearing, a date will be fixed for a trial.

Walters is alleged to have stolen £5,496, between December 1, 2008, and January 30, 2010; £8,052 between March 1, 2009, and December 1, 2010; and £521 between May 20, 2009, and December 1, 2010 from residents living at the home.

Walters was given unconditional bail.
