Leeds Partnerships seeks social care integration

Leeds Partnerships NHS Foundation Trust is working to take on adult social care provision for the city. February board minutes say staff and service users have been involved in developing the plans.

They say the result should create “a citywide integrated service… this was to ensure improvement in the service users’ journey; to reduce assessments and processes between the two organisations and to define clear lines of accountability within the community mental health teams”.

The board heard that “once the services were integrated the trust would be responsible for these… [staff] would be seconded into the trust for an initial period of one year, after which the arrangements would be reviewed”.

The papers added: “The reason for not bringing staff in under TUPE [Transfer of Undertakings] is that it would create work which would be difficult to sustain given the other organisational developments being undertaken at this point.”
