North Yorkshire mental health services praised
NORTH Yorkshire and York Community and Mental Health Services have been praised in a national survey.
The 2010 mental health patient survey assessed the services provided by North Yorkshire and York Community and Mental Health Services (CMHS). The survey asked patients to rate the care they had received.
It focused on the following key areas: health and social care workers, medications, talking therapies, care co-ordinators, care plans, care reviews, day-to-day living and crisis care.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire and York CMHS said patients’ overall rating of the care provided by the organisation was the best possible when compared with all other mental health service providers across the country, and in the majority of categories CMHS scored in the top 20 per cent.
Janet Probert, North Yorkshire and York Community and Mental Health Services’ managing director, said: “This is a tremendous achievement and helps demonstrate the continued and dedicated efforts of our staff to improve the quality of care for our patients.”
