Twins taken from social workers by mother found safe and well
Four-year-old twins taken from social workers by their mother have been found safe and well, Lincolnshire police said today.
Billy Blu and Vixen Rae Francis were snatched from a care centre in Skegness by their mother, Tamara Dyson, as staff prepared a hot drink.
Police issued an appeal for the twins’ safe return yesterday as Judge Heather Swindells warned that they were “at serious risk of harm”.
Officers revealed today that Billy Blu and Vixen Rae had been found but refused to say when and where.
“Following a police operation two children have been located safe and well and are in police protection,” a Lincolnshire police statement said.
“A male and a female are currently under arrest and waiting to be questioned at Lincoln police station later today.”
The children had been taken into foster care because of concerns about the ability of Dyson, an alcoholic, to look after them.
She had taken the twins from the same contact centre – Roseberry Avenue Contact Centre, in their home town of Skegness – during a supervised visit last Monday, but was tracked down and an interim care order put in place.
A second meeting at the same centre with the children’s 61-year-old grandmother, Judith Dyson, was arranged for Thursday, when the toddlers were taken.
Police initially said the children could be in the Republic of Ireland, Wales, Scotland or Cumbria but said they did not have a “solid idea” of where Dyson was.
Yesterday the twins’ natural father, 31-year-old Billy Francis, an electrician from Greenwich, south-east London, called for the public’s help in finding the children.
“I am livid that this has happened with social services while under their care and responsibility,” he said.
