Save the Children introduces US scheme to help families in UK
The child poverty charity, Save the Children, is introducing a £12m scheme to the UK, based on a US programme which has dramatically improved the lives of poor children, according to CYP Now.
Families and Schools Together (Fast) is based in schools and designed to help families from deprived communities to learn together and improve their relationships. The project helps families to learn to cook a family meal and sit down to eat together andcoaches parents to read and play with their children. It also supports parents in setting family boundaries and talking to their children.
