Ross-on-Wye care home boss in neglect arrest is bailed

The co-owner of a Herefordshire care home arrested on suspicion of neglecting residents has been released on bail.

Madhu Menon, who runs Rosedale Retirement Home in Ross-on-Wye with her husband, was arrested on Tuesday morning.

West Mercia Police said Mrs Menon had been bailed until the end of June pending further inquiries.

Rosedale cares for up to 24 people and remains open.

Council contract

It has a contract with Herefordshire Council to provide respite care.

A council spokesman said officials had met with residents and their relatives to explain the situation.

“We can assure them of our continued support through this difficult time and will do all we can to ensure they receive the care they deserve,” he said.

A spokesman for the Care Quality Commission, which regulates adult social care in the public and private sector, said it was aware of the arrest and was working with the council and police.
