A PROBE is being held into the death of a care home resident.Peter Hunt, 42, was living at Care Principles, Cedar House, Dover Road, Barham.

He died on April 19, but police are not treating the incident as suspicious.

However, the care home is probing the death and a full inquest will be held in the next few months.

Cedar House is a 44-bed independent secure hospital for adults with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour, detained under the Mental Health Act.

Care Principles spokesman Alex Healey said: “We can confirm that very sadly a patient died while in our care at Cedar House in the early evening of Sunday April 19.

“This is the subject of a current police investigation and our own internal enquiry, the findings of which will be provided by the coroner and reported to the regulatory authorities.

“We will not provide further information on the individual patient, his treatment nor the outcome of our own internal investigation in line with our strict patient confidentiality policy other than to meet the needs of the coroners’ inquest.”
