Three arrested from Wakefield private care home

Detectives have arrested three people in connection with an investigation at a private care home. The Express understands the owner of Woodlands, on Nostell Lane, Ryhill, is among those currently in custody at Wood Street Police Station.

An investigation was launched after allegations were made against the home, which is run by Woodlands Residential Homes Ltd and can cater for 19 adult residents with learning disabilities under the age of 65.

Woodlands can offer respite, long, short and day care.

And it can also give specialist care for epilepsy sufferers.

A police spokeswoman said: “This morning three people were arrested, a man and two women.

“They have been arrested in connection with allegations made in relation to a private care home.

“They are currently in custody and are being questioned.”

The investigation is ongoing.
