Man Remanded Over Social Carer’s Murder
A man accused of stabbing a social care worker to death at a Lancashire house has been remanded in custody.
Robert Searle, 51, of Fulwood, near Preston, is accused of murdering father-of-three Philip Ellison.
The 47-year-old was knifed repeatedly at a house in Fulwood. He was a live-in social worker for people who need care while living in the community.
Mr Seale was ordered to be detained in a secure psychiatric unit by Preston magistrates until 29 April.
Mr Ellison was married with three sons and lived in Penwortham. He had been employed by Lancashire County Council as a live-in social worker in adult care for eight years.
