Beeston Care Home Plans Look Set To Get Tumbs-Up
Controversial plans to build a care home in Beeston look set to be approved. More than 30 letters opposing the proposals have been sent to Broxtowe Borough Council, which meets tonight to discuss the proposal.
Two properties on the site, including a large detached house in Middleton Crescent, would be demolished. The 77-bed care home would include 24 parking spaces.
Residents are concerned about increased traffic and loss of privacy.
However, the Highways Agency said the development was unlikely to generate much traffic nor have an adverse impact on the A52.
Planners said a nursing home would not be out of keeping with the character of the area.
