Help For East Riding Drug Workers
People who work with drug users are being given a helping hand through an online drugs awareness training programme.
East Riding Safe Communities has launched the scheme designed for people who might work with drug users, but who are not specialist drug workers.
The course covers such things as signs and symptoms of drug use, methods of use and the law relating to drugs, as well as looking at treatment for drug users.
Fiona Conyers, drug action officer for Safe Communities East Riding, hopes the programme will be useful and believes it will prove an invaluable tool.
She said: “The training has had an excellent uptake and feedback from trainees has been very positive.
“It is primarily aimed at people who work in public services, but it is also of interest to anyone who would like to know more about drugs and the harm they cause.”
Anyone who would like further information on the initiative can call Fiona Conyers, drug action officer, on (01482) 391014.
