Tamworth : Success For 92 Care Home Workers

Children’s care home workers in Tamworth are celebrating this week, after beating a tough national target.

Ninety-two of the 112 staff who work with young people across Staffordshire are now qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care.

This amounts to a fantastic 82 per cent, beating the eightper cent target recently set by the government.

Staff in children’s units in Tamworth are among those that were successfully assessed by supervisors.

They were monitored on their standards of daily practice and tested to ensure they know how to act in certain situations.

Singing the praises of the care home workers, Jean Perry, NVQ development officer, at Staffordshire County Council, is ‘delighted’ to have reached this level. She said: “It’s really important that we provide a quality service for the young people who live in our residential units as they are often amongst the most vulnerable people in society.”
