Prime Minister Announces Commitment To Third Sector

The English Community Care Association (ECCA), the leading representative body for independent care homes, has welcomed the Prime Minister’s announcement of the Government’s intention to have a much clearer and long-term relationship with the third sector.

Martin Green, Chief Executive of ECCA, says: “Many of ECCA’s members come from the third sector and the Prime Minister’s package of measures are greatly welcomed. However, as we move into a pluralist economy of health and care with private sector as well as third sector providers the redefining of the relationship between Government and the third sector needs to extend to the private sector as well.

“What we need are adult relationships between the statutory sector and all providers and services that are judged on outcomes rather than administrative structures”.
