New Resources For Integrated Qualifications Framework

The Children’s Workforce Development Council (CWDC) has published two new resources to help both employers and employees prepare for the Integrated Qualifications Framework (IQF), due to be fully implemented by 2010.

There are two versions of the ‘clear progression’ documents, one which is tailored for employers and one targeted at employees. Both are short, accessible documents which outline how the IQF will change the face of qualifications and improve the mobility of the children and young people’s workforce.

Jane Haywood, Chief Executive of CWDC comments: “The Integrated Qualifications Framework will bring some much needed changes in the sector, including opening up career opportunities across the children’s workforce and making the complex system of qualifications easier for employees and employers to understand and work with.

“2010 may seem quite a while away, but we are already working hard and the first qualifications and units will be included on the IQF by Autumn 2007. These new resources provide a valuable insight into the IQF and why it is so important, and should answer many of the questions both employers and employees have about its implementation.”

The resources can be downloaded here. A range of additional information about the IQF is also available within this section. The new resources cover a range of topics including how the IQF will support integrated working, mobility across the sector and reduce the number of qualifications employers and employees work with.
