Man remanded over historical rape and child sexual assault charges in Hillingdon
A man accused of historical child sex offences from the 1970s has appeared in court.
Victor Kelly, 75, is alleged to have committed rape, gross indecency and indecent assault on a girl between 1975 and 1978.
He appeared at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, speaking only to confirm his name and date of birth.
Asked for his nationality, he said: “Irish.”
Kelly faces one charge of rape of a female under the age of 16 between 1975 and 1978.
He is also accused of one charge of indecent assault on a girl under 14 between 1975 and 1978 and two like charges between 1977 and 1978.
He faces a further charge of committing gross indecency with a girl aged under 14 between 1975 and 1978 and one charge of indecent assault on a girl aged under 16 between 1977 and 1978.
The alleged offences took place in the London Borough of Hillingdon.
Kelly was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Isleworth Crown Court on March 28.
