Resources: Secure estate e-learning module for workforce in Wales
A new bilingual e-learning module on assessing and meeting the care and support needs of individuals in the secure estate is now available on the Care Council for Wales’ Learning Zone.
It’s the third e-learning module to be added to the site since its launch in January, following on from Caring with Pride about the Code of Professional Practice for Social Care Workers and an Introduction to the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014.
The new e-learning module provides learners with a detailed overview of how the care and support needs of individuals in the secure estate should be assessed and met. It is part of a suite of learning materials developed for the Care Council by the Institute of Public Care (IPC) that explore how the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act affects those working with people in the secure estate.
The other materials, which are available on the Information and Learning Hub, consist of a summary and overview of the key messages and changes that are suitable for all audiences (known as the Level A materials) and more detailed learning materials for those working in the secure estate (known as the Level B materials). As well as a briefing document on resettlement for local authorities without a secure estate establishment in their area.
