In its 10th year, the NHSScotland Event proved to be a resounding success with over 1,600 registered delegates from NHSScotland, the wider public sector and the third sector coming together to share learning and spread good practice. The theme of this year’s Event was Leading Integration for Quality – acknowledging the most important reform of recent years.
With four Plenaries and 15 Parallel and Lunchtime Sessions, the extensive programme provided a wide range of topical areas of learning and discussion. Delegates heard from a number of inspiring speakers who helped to showcase powerful examples of quality in the newly emerging integration landscape using real examples and personal experiences of those who are involved or affected at all levels.
This year, delegates heard from Shona Robison MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Health, Wellbeing and Sport as she launched the National Conversation on the future of Health and Social Care. On Day Two, the Deputy First Minister, John Swinney MSP, took to the stage to acknowledge the efforts and commitment of those who work for and within NHSScotland, who provide first class care despite the ongoing challenges. The Deputy First Minister also noted the key role innovation will play in the integration of services in improving the quality and efficiency of care across the country.
One of the most popular elements to the NHSScotland Event is the Poster Exhibition which this year featured over 230 projects representing the very best examples of quality improvement in each of the six poster categories. To acknowledge the theme of this year’s Event, a special Integration Award was also presented to the poster displaying work that is delivering better quality and improved outcomes for people through the integration of activity.
The resources available on the website include filmed footage of all the Plenary Sessions, presentations from the Parallel and Lunchtime Sessions, Roving Reporter Interviews, Vox Pops, as well as all the winning posters.
