NISCC domestic abuse seminar available to download

The Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC) have made a recent lunchtime seminar on domestic abuse available to download.

The “Tackling Domestic Abuse – Working inside and out of Criminal Justice/Early Intervention” was presented by Kerry Malone of the Probation Board for Northern Ireland (PBNI) and took place on 30 June at the NISCC Office in Millenium House, Belfast.

It is the latest in a series of free Lunchtime Seminars, which are designed to highlight new initiatives, new research and outcomes from reviews that are relevant to social work and social care.

Ms Malone is an Area Manager for PBNI and has responsibility for the delivery and management of high risk programmes focused on addressing both sexual and violent offending. She has a practice background in child protection work and has also worked as a senior practitioner delivering treatment programmes to men convicted of domestic abuse and sexual offending.

Ms Malone has more recently been involved in the development of “Promoting Positive Relationships”, a bespoke treatment programme for alleged perpetrators of domestic abuse.
