Crossreach host event recognising contribution of its workforce
The Church of Scotland’s social care arm, CrossReach, has recognised the contribution its workforce at an event at the Church of Scotland Assembly Hall in Edinburgh this week.
Workers from across the organisation received certificates, trophies and awards for their commitment to personal development with 133 staff achieving new qualifications; including SVQ levels 3 and 4, HNC, PDA and BSc Information Technology.
In addition to recognising these achievements, years of long service were also marked with The Rt Rev Dr Angus Morrison (Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland) presenting certificates and awards to:
- 28 staff members for 20 years’ service
- 5 staff members for 30 years’ service
- 1 staff member for 40 years’ service
Some of the other staff recognised included:
- Adult Learner of the Year Award – Ashley Reid, Senior Care Worker at The Elms Care Home.
- Award for Excellence – Carol Brackenridge, Employee Development officer, Adult Care Services.
- Volunteer of the Year 2015 – Vera Lumsden, CrossReach Counselling: Moray.
- Employee of the Year 2015 – Margaret Cassidy, Manager of South Beach House, Ardrossan.
Guest Speaker Andy Lowndes of Play List for Life also congratulated the organisation on being the first to have Dementia Ambassadors in all its residential services for Older People.
