A former children’s panel chairman has been found guilty of sexually abusing two vulnerable boys and a young man. Daniel Ross, 62, was found guilty of six sexual abuse charges at the High Court in Glasgow today.
Ross began his abuse at various locations around Glasgow from the 1970’s to the 1990’s.
The trial heard how Ross abused his senior position at the Children’s Panel, using their offices in the city’s Albion Street to carry out his abuse.
His first victim was a young man, now aged 55, in the late 1970’s. His second was abused from the age of 13 in the 1980’s and another boy from the age of 14 in the 1990’s.
The jury heard from each of the three victims recalling detials of the abuse with one witness commenting Ross was ‘evil – evil in every way.’
Police initially investigated Ross in 2001 but no charges were brought. However, in 2012, one of the victims came forward and fresh probe resulted in Ross being brought to court.
Sentence was deferred and he was remanded in custody.
