Dundee to host Scottish Youth Justice conference
The Centre for Youth & Criminal Justice (CYCJ) and the National Youth Justice Advisory Group (NYJAG) have announced details of their annual conference.
Taking place at the West Park Conference Centre in Dundee, ‘It’s Complicated: Youth Justice and Complexity in Scotland’ will take place over two days on June 17 & 18.
This free to attend two day event gives practitioners the chance to hear up-to-date youth justice research, share practice and reflect on the views of young adults who have experienced the youth and criminal justice system.
The conference will be opened by the new Minister for Justice, Michael Matheson MSP (pictured) and speakers include Martin Crewe, Director of Barnardo’s Scotland, and Jim Gamble QPC, former Chief Executive of the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre.
They’ll be joined by representatives from the Scottish Government, the Scottish Centre for Crime and Justice Research (SCCJR) and the Interventions for Vulnerable Youth (IVY) project, amongst others.
