Course highlights
To support next weeks launch of the Care Certificate on the 1st April, Skills for Health have developed a suite of core clinical e-learning courses that along with the existing Statutory & Mandatory courses, covers the Care Certificate standards and allows staff to undertake learning at a time and place that is convenient for them.
Working in partnership with Health Education England (HEE) and Skills for Care, Skills for Health has also helped to develop the Care Certificate learning outcomes and the associated handbook.
Based on the newly developed Clinical / Care UK Core Skills Training Framework, the Clinical Care Suite of courses contains all the key elements for staff to develop and maintain their clinical skills and improve patient safety.
Additional new e-learning courses from Skills for Health include:
- Stand By Me – an innovative new e-learning course aimed at health and social care practitioners, both clinical and non-clinical. The training incorporates six video dramatisations across different care settings to put the learning focus on the communication and person centred skills required to care for people with dementia and their families. Each of the videos is embedded in a series of questions based on the VIPS framework. It gives learners the opportunity to reflect on their own practice, the challenges they face in the role and the practice within their organisations.
- Personal health budgets – an interactive, scenario based course to give to explain the six step process of the personal budgeting process. Aimed at healthcare staff involved in this area, the new e-learning module has been developed in partnership with Partner2Care and NHS England.
- E-assessment – a robust assessment allowing learners with considerable knowledge and experience in the Core Skills Training Framework to undertake questions from a large bank without taking a course. This offers significant time, cost and resource savings.
- Statutory and Mandatory UK Core Skills – helps employees to meet the current national requirements via a series of courses that standardise skills across a wide range of areas (from conflict resolution to moving and handling) and fill in any gaps in understanding.
