Housing and dementia practice development workshops
The Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) are working with the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) Scotland and the Joint Improvement Team (JIT) to deliver ‘Informed About Dementia’ sessions for housing staff.
These free interactive workshops will help attendees understand how to use Promoting Excellence materials to improve knowledge and skills in the workplace. Promoting Excellence is a framework for staff who work with people who have dementia, their families and carers.
The workshops will focus on informed practice level which outlines the baseline knowledge and skills required by everyone working with people with dementia, including in their own home. The workshops emphasise that dementia is everybody’s business and explain how we can all contribute to improving the lives of people with dementia.
The half day workshops will be held across Scotland up to March 2015:
- 16 January 2015 – Edinburgh
- February 2015 – Aberdeen (date to be confirmed)
- February 2015 – Inverness (date to be confirmed)
- March 2015 – Scottish Borders (date to be confirmed)
