Resources for Scots care workers on welfare reform
A recent report The Impact of Welfare Reform on Third Sector Care and Support Services In Scotland from the Institute for Research and Innovation in Social Services (IRISS) and the Coalition of Care and Support Providers Scotland (CCPS) highlights how the major changes in welfare provision is impacting on the workforce and in particular those who directly support people.
The findings indicate increasing levels of anxiety as a consequence of changing demands on the workforce due to growing financial pressures on individuals and families they support.
This is changing the nature of support needed and represents a serious challenge to the capacity and quality of organisations and their workforce. Alongside that is the reduced support and inadequate information from services out with their organisations.
