Health and Social Care Technicians of the Year announced
The first Higher Education Academy (HEA) Health and Social Care Technicians of the Year awards have been awarded to technicians from Royal Veterinary College, University of Brighton, University of Huddersfield, University of Portsmouth and University of York.
Geoff Glover, Assistant Director and Head of Health and Social Care, said: “The support of technical staff within health and social care provides a valuable contribution to the creation of high quality learning and teaching for students and commissioners. Their creativity and contribution to innovative pedagogies within educational technology assures student learning has relevance to practice and pertinence to effective patient/client care.
“I congratulate all our successful Technicians of the Year and wish them every success in their future learning and teaching experiences.”
The winners of the Health and Social Care awards are:
- Veterinary medicine – Andrew Crook, Royal Veterinary College
- Health related studies – Rob Jefford, University of Brighton
- Nursing and midwifery – Paul Dagg, University of Huddersfield
- Medicine and dentistry – Sarah Cooper, University of Portsmouth
- Social work and social policy – Matt Cornock, University of York (pictured)
They each receive £250 in recognition of their contribution to Health and Social Care education.
