Care ‘Ambassadors’ show what its like to work on the frontline

Skills for Care are launching ‘Meet the I Care…Ambassadors’ video case studies to share the experiences of frontline care workers in adult social care.

Each ambassador tells their own story giving an honest insight into their day to day role as a care worker, opportunities for personal development and the rewards of working in adult social care.

The videos will be shown as part of the local activity during I Care…Ambassadors Week, which runs from Monday 10 to Friday 14 February, and aims to highlight how I Care…Ambassadors can help to promote careers in adult social care.

Careers and employment advisors from across England are also being invited to meet inspirational ambassadors at the ‘Promoting careers in social care – How I Care…Ambassadors can help’ event on February 11 in London.

Skills for Care CEO Sharon Allen said: “We know from other sectors that getting people who are doing the job to talk to potential workers helps to create a clear picture of the role which supports recruitment and retention. That’s why we asked the I Care…Ambassdors to tell their own story, which they have done very powerfully.

“Adult social care may need to fill an extra one million job roles by 2025 so I’m confident that when people thinking about coming into our growing sector see these videos it will convince them of the personal and professional rewards on offer in care.”
