College of Social Work launches Higher Education membership scheme

Following the success of The College of Social Work’s corporate membership scheme, The College of Social Work has launched a new group membership scheme aimed at Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).

The scheme enables HEIs to support their social work students and academic staff through cost-effective access to The College’s professional development tools and services.

Members who enrol under the new HEI membership offer will receive a wide range of benefits including access to the latest e-Books and academic journals; access to The College’s Communities of Interest where students can share tips, discuss their experiences and participate in organised practice debates; an online CPD e-portfolio where they can begin to organise their CPD and access to Knowledge @ The College – an online expert helpdesk where students can put practice questions to a panel of more than 20 social work experts.

Professor Hilary Tompsett, College Board Member and Professor of Social Work at Kingston University and St George’s University of London, said:  “Joining the HEI membership scheme will ensure that you are providing for the professional development needs of your student social workers, as well as your staff, by giving them access to an array of services and informative resources built to enrich their studies, aid their development and instil the practices that will become vital in their on-going career as social work professionals.”
