Makar backs Children’s Panel drive
Scotland’s national poet Liz Lochhead has written a new poem aimed at encouraging people to sign up to become members of the Children’s Panel.
The Makar said she was “delighted” to have been asked to write a piece for the annual recruitment campaign.
Some 600 new volunteers are needed to ensure that the Children’s Panel system offers the best support to neglected, troubled and abused youngsters across Scotland.
Ms Lochhead said she hoped her poem, titled “Trouble is not my middle name”, would “attract new volunteers who can help children get their lives back on track”.
